The search for Person of the year #LazyNigerianYouth or #HardworkingNigerianYouth continues in #Abuja

Cutmypic.png

The Youth in Nigeria today are facing very unique challenges due to an overall failure in governance.

Despite the challenges, some have excelled on a global scale in almost all areas.

Look at Fashion, Entertainment , Literature, Information Technology & Entrepreneurship for examples.

Considering the Continous decay since Independence in 1960, we should have #diligentNigerianYouth or #HardworkingNigerianYouth or #IndustriousNigerianYouth trending instead of the recent jibe from our leader.

(People's suggestibility can be powerfully influenced by the environment in which they find themselves, and you can use environmental triggers - and 'triggers' can, of course, include your own words)

In searching for person of the year  #LazyNigerianYouth I'm tempted to believe  he/ she / they  may reside mostly in Abuja, if i was to pin a location Aso rock would get mine.

But the truth is #LazyNigerianYouth do exist, the ones without PVC.  So stop being lazy, find out how to get yours here

transform the narrative to #diligentNigerianYouth or #HardworkingNigerianYouth or #IndustriousNigerianYouth

David Palacios' exhibition opens at Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre #Abuja. “Track Changes”

Digital invitation-2

David Palacios' exhibition opens at Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre.
“Track Changes” will show a selection of works from his project Art Report (2011-2014).
David Palacios' latest exhibition, “Track Changes”, opens at Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja. Kicking off with an opening reception on Thursday, May 22nd from 6 to 8 pm, this is a contemporary mixed media art exhibition. Originally Cuban, Palacios currently lives and works between the cities of London (UK) and Abuja (Nigeria).

The exhibition “Track Changes” gathers David Palacios' ideas developed since 2011 as part of his project “Art Report“ in which he juxtaposes art codes with statistical information and news. The exhibitincludes graphics-paintings, digital prints, installations, book-objects and videos that take a critical look at models of representation of the information industry using  visual news agency mechanisms.
Palacios takes as a reference issues on the global and Nigerian agenda such as the global economy, international investment, oil prices, military spend, social issues and poverty levels and presents them with an interdisciplinary approach, in works that at first glance seem innocuous graphics and reports.
Over the last few years, the artist has been using his works to illustrate information on social, political and economic issues, and also as a tool for self-reflexion on the limits of representation.

Concert, Multimedia show & Fireworks display at National stadium #Abuja 27th Feb 2014 #Centenary

Centenary

As Nigeria begins to wrap up the Centenary activities, this great nation is preparing for the biggest event of the century, “Nigeria: A Nation United”. On January 1st 1914, Nigeria’s journey to nationhood commenced when the Northern and Southern Protectorates were amalgamated into one country by the colonial authorities…. As Nigeria celebrates 100 years – we are celebrating a journey underlined by a determination to excel and remain united as a strong indivisible entity.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has directed that the celebrations be brought to a close in February 2014, with a grand ceremony, telling our unique story to the world.  With over a thousand (1000+) cast and crew members from all over Nigeria, this story would feature state of the art technology, props and choreography on a canvass dominated by a unique stage, custom built to mirror our nation’s geography. It would be a fascinating night of history and spectacle, ending in a blazing display of fireworks. Watch as history unfolds at The Abuja National Stadium on the 27 th February 2014 at 6pm where there will be a pre-concert, followed by a spectacular Multimedia Show and Fireworks display.

Official MCs for the night are Ike Osakioduwa and Funke Akindele who will launch the pre-concert featuring some of the nations most popular musicartistssuch as TuFace, Wizkid, Ara, Nazir AhmedHausawaa.k.aZiriums, Threadstoneand Omawunmi among others.Observe as we also revive nostalgia and relive music from decades past featuring hits from Victor Olaiya, Victor Uwaifo, Ikemba Superstars, Nelly Uchendu, Rex Lawson, King Kennytone, Fela and many others!
